Break Up with Plastic Water Bottles

If you’re still drinking from plastic water bottles, I say this with love: it’s time to stop.

We’ve been conditioned to believe that grabbing a bottle of water on the go is a sign of health. Hydration, right? Clean, pure, convenient. But the truth is, what’s inside may be pure, but what it’s housed in is far from healthy.

Let’s talk about the facts.

Plastic leaches chemicals. Especially when exposed to heat (like sitting in your car), plastic bottles release chemicals like BPA and phthalates, known endocrine disruptors. These compounds can mess with your hormones, your metabolism, and your reproductive health. Even BPA-free plastics aren’t innocent; many simply replace BPA with similar chemicals like BPS, which can be just as harmful.

Microplastics are in your bloodstream. New studies have shown that we’re not just drinking water, we're drinking microplastic particles. Scientists have found microplastics in our blood, our organs, and even in the placenta. Let that sink in.

It’s hurting the planet, and your body. One million plastic bottles are bought around the world every single minute. With most ending up in landfills or our oceans. And yes, those broken-down particles enter our food chain. When we pollute the planet, we pollute ourselves.

I drink a lot of water. Hydration is essential to my wellness routine. But I’ve completely eliminated plastic. At home, I use glass carafes. On the go, it’s always a refillable stainless steel bottle. It’s a small shift that makes a big difference.

What I recommend:

• Use glass or stainless steel bottles

• Filter your water at home (I love a good mineral filter)

• Say no to plastic even when it’s convenient

• Educate your family. Culture shifts start at home.

If you care about your health, hormones, and your future you cannot ignore this. It’s one of the simplest, most powerful changes you can make. And it ripples out. Let’s raise our reusable bottles to better hydration, health, and a cleaner planet

To your vitality,

Lizanne Falsetto
