Why I'm Choosing to Believe This Is My Year

If you had asked me a few years ago whether I believed in astrology, I probably would have laughed. I knew I was a Leo, but beyond that, I didn't give it much thought. I've always believed we create our own destiny through hard work, resilience, discipline, and showing up every day. I still believe that. But lately, I keep hearing the same thing: "Jupiter is moving into Leo. This is your year." For the first time, I find myself smiling instead of dismissing it.

Not because I suddenly believe the stars determine our future. I still believe science should guide our decisions, especially when it comes to our health and the way we live our lives. What has changed is that I've become much more open-minded.

Curiosity has shaped every meaningful chapter of my life. It led me to create one of the first high-protein nutrition bars when most people didn't understand why protein mattered. It led me into women's health and longevity long before those conversations became mainstream. Time and again, I've learned that being curious often opens doors that certainty never could.

Today, I'm entering a new chapter. My children are grown and building lives of their own. I'm creating a home in Italy that I've dreamed about for years. I'm building new businesses, expanding the YPO Women's Wellness Circle, and investing more intentionally in my health, my relationships, and the life I want to create.

I don't feel like I'm slowing down. I feel like I'm just getting started.

So when someone tells me, "This is your year," I don't hear it as a prediction. I hear it as an invitation. An invitation to dream bigger, say yes to new opportunities, embrace reinvention, and believe that some of the best chapters of our lives don't happen in our twenties or thirties; they happen when we've gained the wisdom to truly appreciate them.

Maybe Jupiter has nothing to do with it. But I do know this: believing that something wonderful is possible changes the way we show up every day. Hope gives us energy. Optimism encourages action. And curiosity keeps us growing.

So yes...maybe this is my year. Not because the stars say so, but because I've decided to live like it is.

What about you, have you ever embraced an idea not because you knew it was true, but because it inspired you to see new possibilities?
