My Castor Oil Underarm Ritual

One of the simplest wellness practices in my routine is applying castor oil to my underarms several nights a week. Why? Because I'm fascinated by the lymphatic system.

Unlike the circulatory system, which has the heart to keep blood moving, the lymphatic system relies on movement, breathing, hydration, and muscle contractions to support healthy fluid flow. Modern life means long flights, desk work, and hours spent sitting, which doesn't help.

The underarm area contains a high concentration of lymph nodes, which is why many wellness practitioners recommend castor oil packs as part of a broader lymphatic support routine.

Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, known for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. While science has not shown that castor oil "detoxifies" the body, many people report feeling more relaxed and less puffy when using it regularly.

My ritual is simple: before bed, I massage a small amount of organic castor oil into each underarm and leave it on overnight. Do I think it's a miracle cure? No. But I do believe that small, consistent habits matter.

For me, castor oil is just one piece of the puzzle. Walking, strength training, hydration, quality sleep, deep breathing, sauna, and rebounding remain the foundation. Wellness is rarely about one intervention, it's about the daily practices that support the body's natural systems.
