What If We Put Ourselves First?

Last week, I held an event with Gabby Bernstein https://lnkd.in/gZ9dzRRK for hundreds of female CEOs, and leaders, to kick off the 21-Day Manifestation Challenge. The conversation took me back more than a decade, in the most wonderful way. At the time, I found myself asking an important question: Why were so many accomplished people willing to put their own health last?

These were extraordinary leaders. They could build companies, create wealth, lead teams, and solve incredibly complex problems. Yet their health and well being were often placed on the back burner. I remember suggesting that we begin a leadership meeting with a meditation. Let’s just say there was not exactly a groundswell of enthusiasm. The idea of slowing down, quieting the mind, looking inward, or speaking openly about something personal felt foreign and uncomfortable.

Today, the tide has shifted.

The conversation around health and wellness has evolved dramatically. We are beginning to understand that success is not only about what we accomplish externally. It is also about how we feel, how we live, and who we become along the way.

This is why community matters.

When women come together through shared experiences, something powerful happens. We ask questions that once felt difficult. We become more curious and courageous. We create space to be vulnerable without feeling that we must have all the answers. That is what struck me during my conversation with Gabby.

Manifestation may sound like a very different subject from health and wellness, but there is an important connection at its core: understanding what we truly want. Not simply what we want to achieve, but how we want to feel. How we want to live. Who we want beside us. And what kind of life we are creating through the choices we make every day.

Perhaps the greatest manifestation is creating a life where we no longer believe we must choose between success and well being. We get to create both.
